When you get to Bandaranaike International Airport, take a private car to a small eco-lodge in the beautiful foothills of Kandy or the Knuckles range. Take an introductory walk around the nearby forest trails in the afternoon to get used to your new home and learn about the natural plants and birds. In the evening, you can go to an eco-introduction session at the lodge that will teach you about the area’s biodiversity, conservation initiatives, and eco-friendly travel habits.

Overnight in Knuckles foothills

Take a guided hike across the Knuckles Mountain Range, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You’ll walk through cloud forests, undulating grasslands, and beautiful views. Have a picnic lunch in the middle of the trail, surrounded by untouched nature. On your way to Haputale, you’ll see magnificent highland scenery with tea estates and misty forests. Leave early for Horton Plains National Park, which has unique highland ecosystems. Take a modest guided hike to the famous World’s End viewpoint and Baker’s Falls. Look out for native animals along the way. After lunch at the park, take the gorgeous mountain roads back to the lodge. You can relax and unwind in the evening.

You can see wildlife at night on an optional night walk.
